Democracy

I have chosen my poster design,the words blended on top of each other,because of the blending of meaning and what democracy is an idea a theory.

50x70

I'm not entirely happy with my democracy poster so I'm going back to it tomorrow. but i thought i would mentioned that I'm also doing 50x70 but the competition finished in April but i will still the competition for good practise.

Ideas so far

From researching what is 'democracy'
-Freedom of political expression
-Freedom of speech
-Freedom to the press

Theory that you can vote an have
- Equality and freedom
- Equality before law
- Equality to access to power

D. Robertson.1986 said that:
'Democracy is the most valued and also the vaguest of political terms in the modern world'

the idea and meaning is just theory.

Democracy is another competition which I'm doing at the moment research and making notes of what is Democracy see if I can make any political statements.

Don't panic

I always do don't panic competitions which I love doing because I enjoy doing problem solving.the word this time is 'social'.

Its about how people go to lengths to socialize. Smoking is a good example everybody has heard or even said to themselves \'I only socially smoke\'.

From doing illustrations and photgraph logo i prefer this one, using my feathers that a photograph and photoshop it, make a great effect.

work exsperience diary

I did my work exsperiences in 22th june which was a long time ago and have rewritten what i have put into my diary into my blogger.

my diary and notes:




1st day:
first day:
i was very nerves the first day got introduced to every body at Catus creative.
all seemed to be there late 20's early 30's so the must a new ish company.
which i found out they have been running for 5 years nows.
I already got given two live briefs:

trusts in cumbria to design a collection of images and put them together like a pattern hard to explain but here are some earlier example that where done last year.



and also a new logo for highgate vets in kendal.

2nd:
I got to know everybody and seemed very friendly and helpful. i carried on with briefs and made tea and tidied up the studio, as a general thing that did with them not asking me to do it.

3rd:
I was able to go to make notes at a meeting for Horkshead magazine which is a clothes shop for older people who go walking, biking horse riding. carried on with my work making ideas notes having fun with the logo, ask for help what they thought using the idea of using snouts as logos showing the vets help pet animals and farm animals.
But the problem was when i came up with an design i wanted to put it on indesign which they didn't have and had to use quark which i have never used they showed me a little bit how to use it but could help me that must as they had deadlines. so i had to work it out my self and struggled a lot.

4th:
i wasn't able to use the computer that i was using because it was somebody else's and she had just come back from holiday. I couldn't carrie on with my work on the computer, the next option was to sketch my ideas.

5th:
I was ment to get a computer to use but it broke down. So i made myself useful and helped out around the studio made teas and coffees.

6th and 7th is the weekend


8th:
still, no computer so i was asking the all the employes what they up to and showing me tips and what they do in cactus what the like what they don't like anything really.

9th:
The weather has been amazing and the boss andy took use to the brewery which is next door and had cider for lunch which was very nice.

10th:
I got a computer a last and manage to come up with a few great ideas and catus liked it and the few other employes manage to create there own and emailed them but the vets didn't like mine cos it wasn't mature and to playful.

11th:
so we teamed p me and mike and manage to create one together. The whole of cactus to me out later on the day for food and a few drinks it was a brilliant night and had a great night and make fell very welcomed to the team.




12th:
last day was sad to go a manage to get a few photographs of the cumbria tourism's magazine but a few idea was good but would of been better if had a computer to use.


over all i loved it.
learnt a lot from the business side than anything and learnt a bit of quark but still need to learn a lot more.

Kingfisher

Ive done another illustration of a kingfisher.
again ive done as a print design tsting on colours
and playing about with styles and patterns which is the most fun.
and also with the heron with the kingfisher together.
